The ZFA is a federal roof body with its executive head office in Melbourne. However, the ZFA is represented throughout Australia through the constituent organisations of the State Zionist Councils (SZC). Each SZC is like a mini-ZFA in its own state, acting as the Zionist roof body in that region. Each SZC is independently run and operated with its own executive, staff and office. However, many of the activities are initiated by the ZFA.
Although independent, each SZC is in constant contact with the ZFA, and each SZC President is a Vice President of the ZFA. Some of the activities of the SZC's are particular to their region, with the SZCs of NSW and Victoria being the largest and most active.
