Overseas Presenters


Chaim Fischgrund - Executive Director of the Alexander Muss Institute for Israel Education and headmaster of the Alexander Muss High School in Israel; expert teacher of History and Tanach; former shaliach in South Africa.

Robbie Gringras - A successful international theatre artist whose Jewish plays have performed globally and on the West End; an educational consultant, graduate of the prestigious Jerusalem Fellows program. 

Margalit Kavenstock - Creator and currently training & support coordinator of Chalav u’Dvash Project at the Department for Jewish Zionist Education of the Jewish Agency for Israel; an expert both as an early childhood educator and a Hebrew teacher.

Chana Pinchasi - Former educational shlicha in Toronto, and teacher at the Ma’ale Film School in Jerusalem; currently a doctoral student in Gender studies and involved in establishing a new high school for girls in Jerusalem.

Rav Ronen Neuwirth - directs the overseas programs of Yeshivat Hesder, Petach Tikva and is the overseas department director of Tzohar, a rabbinical organisation which aims at building bridges between the world of Torah Judaism and the community at large; recently appointed as the Rabbi of Ohel Ari Congregation in Ra'annana; teaches at various seminaries.

Dr. Alex Pomson - A senior lecturer at the Melton Centre for Jewish Education at the Hebrew University; one of the mentors for the ZFA Teaching Israel Project introduced in Australian Jewish Day Schools.

Tamara Wassner-Rich
Originally from NSW, Tamara is currently
working at the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem, teaching/developing online courses, lecturing and conducting museum tours.

And Keynote Speaker:
Naomi Ragen
Over the past fifteen years, author and playwright Naomi Ragen has quietly become one of the Jewish world’s most controversial and most read novelists and political commentators. An American born in New York, she has lived and worked in Jerusalem for the past 38 years and is the author of seven international bestsellers, an award winning play, and an influential and widely-read internet website.




Local Presenters

Together with the high-calibre Israeli presenters, local presenters play a key role in
creating what is traditionally a dynamic, informative and innovative conference.

In 2008, we have secured over 40 local presenters.




Conference Registration

Conference participants include school lay leadership, principals, heads of departments and educators from 22 Jewish educational institutions across Australia and New Zealand for the two-day professional development conference.

The invitation to participate is also open to Education Officers of ZFA affiliates and other Jewish communal educators.
