Kangarusski is a vibrant and young Russian-speaking Jewry department of the Zionist Federation of Australia (ZFA.) Kangarusski was established in 2012 by the ZFA and since then Kangarusski has been an address for the Russian-speaking Jewish community in Australia, offering a wide range of social and educational events and activities in Sydney and in Melbourne. These range from holiday camps to Limmud FSU, regular events to celebrate and commemorate the festivals with a truly Russian flavour and the Kangarusski birthright bus.
Kangarusski and Kangarusski activities are generously supported by Zionist Federation of Australia, Jewish Agency for Israel, World Zionist Organization, Triguboff Foundation, Genesis Philanthropy Group, Pratt Foundation and Victoria Multicultural Commission. Partnerships Kangarusski is open to all kind of joint projects, and has been partnering with various organizations. Our most active partners are Lider Russian Sunday school (Melbourne), Hagshama (Melbourne and Sydney), Hillel (Sydney), American Forum of Russian Jewry (AFRJ), Limmud FSU (Former Soviet Union) Australia.
Most of Kangarusski activities are led by Kangarusski volunteers who are the most important part of our community. They are key people of everything that is going on, they are heart and soul of Kangarusski. Most of our volunteers underwent Kangarusski Leadership Training and acquired community leadership skills.
