Partnership 2Gether Arava Australia is a program of the Jewish Agency and the Zionist Federation of Australia that promotes people to people relationships through cultural, social and educational programs. P2G is part of a global network of over 45 Partnerships that aims to be the central network for the promotion of connection between Jewish communities and developing Jewish Peoplehood. P2G has become the paradigm for successfully partnering global Jewish communities directly with Israeli communities. Australia has been partnered with the Central Arava since 1995.

יום השואה כבר התחיל באוסטרליה. אוסטרליה היא הקהילה היהודית עם השיעור הגבוה ביותר של צאצאי ניצולי השואה בעולם; לפי המוזיאון היהודי בסידני, כ27 אלף ניצולים היגרו מאירופה לאוסטרליה אחרי השואה.
אנחנו זוכרים, בלב כבד, את ששת מיליון היהודים שנרצחו בשואה. אנחנו שואבים השראה מחברינו באוסטרליה, שאלפים מהם קמו מהפרק החשוך בתולדות העם היהודי והקימו חיים חדשים בקהילה יהודית חזקה וגאה.
As Yom HaShoah begins in Australia, we are reminded that Australia has the highest percentage of Holocaust survivors and their descendents of any Jewish community in the world. We remember the six million Jews who were murdered by the Nazis. We are inspired by our friends in Australia, who from the ashes of Europe chose to continue to build new lives in a strong and proud Jewish community.🕯 As the sun sets in Australia, and Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) is officially upon us, we wanted to reshare this beautiful piece of artwork by Israeli artist Karen Gillerman which we shared a number of years ago.
The past and the future bridged together through the arms of Polish-born Auschwitz survivor Dora Dreiblat, born in 1922, and her great-granddaughter Daniela Har-Zvi, born in 2007 in Israel.
