News, Official Statements

Joint statement from Dr. Danny Lamm, President of the Zionist Federation of Australia and Sharene Hambur, President of Zionism Victoria:

We are delighted that Premier Daniel Andrews officially opened a Victorian Government trade and investment office in Israel yesterday.  Victoria’s move is the first ever by an Australian state government to open an office in Israel and represents a historic moment for Victorian-Israeli relations. he office is perfectly located in the technological, innovation and business hub of Tel Aviv and in the same building as the Israel offices of Google and PayPal.

We also warmly welcome Opposition Leader Matthew Guy’s pledge to open a Victorian Government business office in Jerusalem should his party be elected to government at next year’s State elections.

We are immensely proud to live in Victoria, a state where Israel enjoys such strong bipartisan political support demonstrated in part by its ongoing efforts in increasing trade, investment, research and business ties.

The opening of the Victorian Government trade and investment office in Tel Aviv and the promise to open a business office in Jerusalem represent wonderful opportunities for Australians, and particularly Victorians to expand on the already strong relationships that exist.
