The Zionist Federation of Australia (ZFA) expresses its outrage over the San Diego Synagogue shooting at the Congregation Chabad synagogue in Poway, California, near San Diego during Saturday morning services on the last day of Passover. About 100 members of the congregation were present.
Four people were shot. According to San Diego Police an “older woman,” died in the attack. Three others, “two adult males” and a “female juvenile” – were listed in stable condition. The identities of the victims have not yet been made public.
The alleged shooter used an assault style weapon in the attack and is reportedly in custody after the murder weapon was found on the front passenger seat of his car.
President of the ZFA, Jeremy Leibler said “We are absolutely outraged and devastated by the news of another synagogue attack, this time in the San Diego area, six months to the day after the horrendous attack on Pittsburgh’s Tree Life of Synagogue”.
“We wish a speedy recovery to those injured and mourn with the family of the woman murdered in yet another attack which was presumably motivated by antisemitism. May her memory be a blessing,” Mr Leibler added.
