The Zionist Federation of Australia expresses profound relief and gratitude for the successful rescue of four Israeli hostages from Gaza last night. The rescued hostages, Noa Argamani, Almog Meir, Andrey Kozlov and Shlomi Ziv were held captive in civilian homes in Gaza.
ZFA President Jeremy Leibler said, “We are immensely relieved by the safe return of Noa, Almog, Andrey and Shlomi. Their release is a testament to the relentless efforts of the IDF and the unwavering commitment to return all hostages to their families – a commitment underlined by the tragic loss of Armon Zamora, who was killed during the operation. This war started when Hamas invaded Israel on 7 October and murdered over a thousand people, before taking hostage 250 innocents. It will end when the hostages come home and Hamas surrenders. We pray for that day to come.”
Mr Leibler concluded, “Once again, the brutal reality of Hamas’s tactics has been revealed. The hostages were held in a home, amongst civilians. Hamas tactics purposefully endanger civilians; it is the party primarily responsible for the loss of civilian life in Gaza. We call upon the international community to recognise and condemn these war crimes, and to support all efforts to remove Hamas from power.”
