The Zionist Federation of Australia welcomes the Israeli ceasefire proposal announced by US President Joe Biden, and calls on the Australian Government to do everything it can to push Hamas to accept the deal.
ZFA President Jeremy Leibler said, “This war was started by Hamas, and it is up to Hamas to end it, by releasing the hostages and laying down its arms”.
Mr Leibler continued, “We urge the Australian Government to put as much pressure on Hamas as possible, through its intermediaries in Qatar, Egypt and elsewhere, to accept the Israeli peace proposal and end the war and suffering on all sides.”
