The Zionist Federation of Australia welcomes Senator Henderson’s call for a Senate inquiry into campus antisemitism.

ZFA President Jeremy Leibler said, “The situation on campus is untenable. We call on the Government to support this inquiry, to ensure Jewish students feel safe on campus.”

ZFA CEO Alon Cassuto said, “There is an urgent need for strong leadership to make our campuses free of hate. For months students have experienced escalating hate speech, harassment, intimidation, and radical non-student activists on campuses with little to no intervention. Enough is enough.”

Ron Benjamin, a 53 year old resident of Rehovot, had gone for an early morning bike ride down south near Kibbutz Be’eri on 7 October when the Hamas rockets started. He contacted his family and told them he was going to head home. That was the last the family heard from him.

His daughter Shay tells that his car was found with a lot of bullet holes and some blood. She also says that they were not informed that Ron was indeed a hostage in Gaza until early December. Before that, he was just considered as missing. But they have heard nothing else about him, and none of the returned hostages have come across him in the tunnels or anywhere else in captivity.

But what the family does know is that he was injured on 7 October, and other injured hostages have not been treated well. He is also allergic to dust, and being down in a tunnel with no air or sunlight would not be great for him.

All Shay wants is for her dad to come home. Until then, their lives are frozen, and every day is just another 7 October on loop.

Help us share Ron’s story. Don’t stop saying Ron’s name.

Bring Ron home to his family.

Hopefully Ron will be home safe soon ♥️♥️♥️

So israel is facing what they have done to palestineans for a long time, arbitrary detention etc, but never called for israel not to stop doing it - and even now dont. Just others shouldnt to do israel what israel has done to others

‘Give us back our hostages or we’ll kill them’
