The Zionist Federation of Australia is devastated to hear of the death of Galit Carbone.
ZFA President Jeremy Leibler said, “News that Australian Galit Carbone, a friend of many in the Australian Jewish community, was killed only adds to the trauma the community is currently facing.
“We are facing the terrible news flooding out of Israel, which is more horrific each day. With so many Jewish Australians having family and friends in Israel, the news of murders, those missing, kidnapped or injured is raw and personal. It defies our understanding that in Australia in 2023, there are marches in our streets with people celebrating these murders, of calling for more, of waving the banners of terrorist organisations, and chanting antisemitic slogans that evoke the worst in the world’s history.”
