The Zionist Federation of Australia is deeply disturbed by the proposal for a “Week of Action – Solidarity with Palestine” by the Australian Education Union (Victoria Branch) this week.
ZFA President, Jeremy Leibler said:
“The Australian Education Union is proposing to teach hatred to young Victorians.
It wants our students to be taught the monstrous and false allegation that Israel and its supporters are responsible for genocide. It’ll demonise Jewish students and put them at risk.
Minister Carroll was right to condemn it. And the Department correctly called it out as a breach of teachers’ professional obligations. We expect that the Department will appropriately discipline any teachers who participate against their advice.”
