Israel issued a warning advising Israelis to ‘excercise caution’ in Australia. The Zionist Federation of Australia is concerned by the Israel travel warning.
ZFA President Jeremy Leibler said, “The Israeli security advice is certainly concerning. Australia remains a welcoming country but we can’t ignore the tactics of intimidation that some have used against Jews and Israelis over the past two months. We can’t ignore the spike in antisemitism, including some physical assaults. In response to this unprecedented antisemitism, state and federal governments have unequivocally condemned antisemitic incidents and protests designed to intimidate, as they should. However, we expect police to become more proactive in arresting or moving on anyone who seeks to intimidate others.”
