ποΈ Avigail Idanβs parents were murdered in front of her eyes on 7 October, and after escaping to her neighbours house, she was kidnapped with them to Gaza, where she was held in terrorist Hamas captivity for 50 days. She was only three years old at the time. Avigail and members of the Brodutch family - Hagar, 40, Ofri, 10, Yuval, 9 and Oriya Brodutch, 4 - were released during the hostage deal in late November. Her brother Michael and sister Amalya survived by hiding in a cupboard. The three siblings now live with their aunt and uncle and their three cousins.
Yesterday, adorable Avigail, a dual American and Israeli citizen, met with US President Joe Biden.
President Biden posted this picture and the following on his Twitter page:
βLast year, we secured the release of Abigail, a 4-year-old who was being held by Hamas.
Sheβs remarkable and recovering from unspeakable trauma.
Our time together yesterday was a reminder of the work we have in front of us to secure the release of all remaining hostages.β
133 hostages remain in terrorist captivity, many who hold dual citizenship. President Biden along with leaders from 17 countries whose citizens are also held hostage in Gaza released a joint statement calling on Hamas to release the remaining hostages. Time is running out.
